If you have your own business and employees, run a car or rent out houses, it is a legal requirement that you have, at least, a basic minimum insurance policy. Many people, however, decide on an advanced insurance policy to cover themselves just in case anything out of the ordinary happens. It is pointless to purchase a minimum insurance policy if it does not offer you the exact level of cover you require. Different insurance companies target different areas of the market. For example, one car insurance company may target young drivers with less driving experience, whereas another will target older, more experienced drivers with no claims bonuses. That way, the competition between companies isn’t as fierce and although it is still extremely competitive,  it works in the insurers favour to target just a section of the market rather than trying to compete with everyone on every risk.
